Tern Cargo Bikes
Tern builds cargo bikes that fit where cargo bikes normally do not. The GSD is famous for it: a full longtail carrying up to 200 kg gross that still parks upright in a hallway and fits in a lift.

Quick Haul or GSD
The Quick Haul at $2,999 is the compact one. It carries a child and shopping, rides like a normal bike, and costs a lot less than a full longtail. For most families adding one bike rather than removing one car, it is the sensible pick.
The GSD S10 at $7,999 is the serious machine: a Bosch Cargo Line motor, 85 Nm, an 800 Wh battery, a 463 lb gross vehicle weight rating and Magura four-piston brakes. It is certified to UL 2849 and built to DIN 79010, the German cargo-bike standard, which almost nothing else here can claim.
Storage first, as always
Cargo bikes need a ground-floor home. The Tern range is unusually good at this, since both bikes park vertically and take up less floor than most, but neither is going up a staircase.

- If it replaces car journeys, the maths works quickly. It is built to the DIN 79010 cargo standard with a Bosch Cargo Line motor and four-piston brakes, which is a different class of engineering to a converted longtail. If you are only carrying shopping occasionally, the Quick Haul at $2,999 is the better buy.
